Chatbot Authorization Error
While accessing the Chatbot from the Microsoft Teams channel, you might experience a common error message like, "Sorry, authorization failed. Please contact your system administrator regarding your Teams account." This error occurs when your account isn't configured correctly to access the Chatbot.
If you receive the above error message, please request that your administrator or the IT Department configure your account to allow you to access the Chatbot from your team's channel. You should be able to access the Chatbot after your account is configured correctly by the administrators.
Reason for the Error
Any accounts not inventoried into EmpowerID or failing any requirements mentioned below will receive the error message when they try to access the Chatbot. Before an organization's users can install and use Chatbot from channels like MS Teams, administrators must have:
- Deployed the Chatbot for your organization following the instructions given in Deployment & Configuration of the EmpowerID Chatbot
- Users from the organization's EntraID tenant must be inventoried into EmpowerID.
- Inventoried EntraID accounts must be linked to an EmpowerID person object
- The EmpowerID person object should be assigned the EmpowerID Chat Bot Access Management Role.
