Add Business Role and Location to Management Roles

Add Business Role and Location combinations to Management Roles through a cart-based business request process. Users who match the specified business role and location criteria automatically receive the role's permissions.

Prerequisites​

Before adding Business Role and Location combinations to Management Roles, ensure you have:

  • Access to Resource Admin with permissions to manage the target Management Role

Procedure​

  1. Navigate to Resource Admin.
  2. Select Management Roles from the resource type menu. Management Roles Resource Type
  3. Locate the desired Management Role and click the Details button. Management Role details button
  4. In the left navigation, click Management Role Members > Business Role And Location. Business Role and Location View
  5. Click Add New Business Role And Location As Member.
  6. Search for and select Business Role and Location combinations: Add Business Role and Location Search Modal
    • Use the Select Business Role search field to search for the Business Role
    • Click the node for the Business Role to select it
    • Use the Select Location search field to search for the location
    • Click the node for the location to select it
    • Click Add New Business Role and Location as Member to add the selection to your cart Add Business Role and Location as Member Button
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to add other Business Roles and Locations as needed.
  8. Click the Shopping Cart icon in the top navigation. Shopping Cart Interface
  9. Review the selected combinations and their assignment details.
  10. Complete the justification:
    • Select a predefined justification from the Justification dropdown, OR
    • Select Other Justification and enter a detailed comment
  11. Enter a Business Request Name for the assignment request.
  12. (Optional) Add additional comments to provide context for approvers.
  13. Click Submit. Submit Cart Button

Verify the Results​

Business Role and Location assignment may require approval depending on your organization's policies. To verify the assignment:

  1. Note the request status displayed in the submission status modal. Add Business Role and Location to Management Role Status Modal
  2. If approval is required, click the status link to track the request in My Tasks.
  3. Once the assignment completes, return to the Management Role's Management Role Members > Business Role And Location section to confirm the combination was added.
