Edit Management Role Owners & Deputies

Management Role owners and deputies have administrative rights to manage the role through RBAC access. Modify ownership and deputy assignments when role management responsibilities change.

Prerequisites

Before modifying role ownership, ensure you have:

  • Access to Resource Admin with permissions to manage the target Management Role

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Resource Admin.

  2. Select Management Roles from the resource type menu. Management Roles Resource Type

  3. Click the Workflows tab.

  4. Find and click Manage Management Role Wizard. Manage Management Role Wizard

  5. Select the Management Role you want to modify by checking the box next to it and click Next. Select Management Role

  6. Select Edit Management Role Owners & Deputies from the available actions and click Next. Edit Owners & Deputies Action

  7. Modify the Responsible Party (the person with ultimate business accountability for the role):

    • Click the X to remove the current person
    • Search for and select the new Responsible Party
    • Leave unchanged if no modification is needed
  8. Modify Owners (can manage the role through RBAC access):

    • To remove: Click Remove next to any owner you want to delete
    • To keep: Click Keep to retain an owner
    • To add: Search for and select people to add as owners
    • Repeat to add multiple owners
    • Note: Roles must have at least one owner at all times
  9. Modify Deputies (backup managers with the same RBAC access as owners):

    • To remove: Click Remove next to any deputy you want to delete
    • To keep: Click Keep to retain a deputy
    • To add: Search for and select people to add as deputies
    • Repeat to add multiple deputies
  10. Review the Operation Execution Summary to confirm your changes and click Submit. Operation Execution Summary

  11. Choose your next action and click Submit: Finish Workflow Options

    • Do you want to manage the same Management Role? - Perform additional actions on the same role
    • Do you want to manage different Management Role(s)? - Work with other Management Roles
    • Do you want to finish the workflow? - Exit the wizard

Verify the Results

Ownership changes may require approval depending on your organization's policies. To verify the changes:

  1. After approval, navigate back to Resource Admin > Management Roles.
  2. Select the Management Role you modified and review its ownership and deputy assignments to confirm changes were applied.
