Update Account Attributes
Update user account attributes to ensure account information remains accurate and synchronized across EmpowerID and connected account stores such as Entra ID. Changes made in EmpowerID can automatically flow to the user's EmpowerID Person record and connected systems based on Attribute Flow rules.
Prerequisites
- Access to view and edit user accounts in EmpowerID
- For synchronization: Attribute Flow must be enabled on the account store
Update Account Attributes

Navigate to the View or View One page for the target user account using one of these methods:
Option 1 - Global Search (Quickest):
- Use the Global search bar at the top of the page
- Enter the user's name or account identifier
- Select the account from search results
Option 2 - Find Account Page: - Navigate to Identity Administration > User Accounts
- Use the search and filter options to locate the account
- Click the account record to open its View page

On the View or View One page, select the Advanced tab.

Click the Logon Name link.
This opens the Edit page for the account.

Make the necessary changes to account attributes.

Click Save.
Results
- Account attributes are updated in EmpowerID
- If Attribute Flow is enabled and the account has a linked EmpowerID Person:
- Changes synchronize to the user's EmpowerID Person record according to Attribute Flow rules
- Updates propagate to connected account stores based on synchronization settings
- Changes are recorded in audit logs with administrator information
- Updated attributes are immediately available for reporting and access decisions
Understanding Attribute Flow
Attribute Flow determines which attributes synchronize between accounts, EmpowerID Person records, and connected systems. The synchronization behavior depends on your organization's Attribute Flow configuration. Consult your EmpowerID administrator for specific Attribute Flow rules in your environment.
