Unshare Folders
This procedure removes network sharing from shared folders while preserving the folders and their contents on the file system. Unsharing removes network access to the folders but does not delete files or folder structures.
Important
Unsharing a folder removes network access for all users. Verify that users and applications no longer require network access before proceeding.
Unshare Folders
- Navigate to Resource Admin.
- Select Shared Folders from the resource type menu.
- Click the Workflows tab.
- Click Unshare Folders.

- Enter search criteria and click Search.

- Select folders by checking the box next to each one.
- To add more folders, enter different search criteria, click Search, and select additional folders.
- Optionally, uncheck Wait to see results to create a collaboration task in My Tasks for later completion.
- Click Submit.
- Review the selected folders to be unshared.

- Verify the folder names and locations are correct.
- Click Yes to confirm, or No to cancel.
- Review the Operation Execution Summary.
- Click Submit to exit.
Results
- Network sharing is removed from the selected folders
- Folders and contents remain intact on the file system
- Users can no longer access folders through network shares or UNC paths
- Folders are removed from EmpowerID shared folder management
- Local access on the server remains unchanged
