Purpose

The Glossary serves to:

  • Provide clear definitions of terms and acronyms used within the EmpowerID product.
  • Ensure consistent understanding of terminology across all users and stakeholders.
  • Serve as a quick reference for new and existing users.

Content Structure

Each glossary entry should include:

  • Term: The word or acronym being defined.
  • Definition: A concise explanation of the term.
  • Context: (Optional) An example or context where the term is used within EmpowerID.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Alphabetical Order: List terms alphabetically for easy navigation.
  • Headings: Use level 2 headings (##) for each term.
  • Bold: Highlight the term in bold at the beginning of its definition.

Example:

## **Access Token**
A credential that represents the authorization granted to a client application by a user or system, allowing access to specific resources.

Maintenance

  • Regular Updates: Review and update the glossary periodically to include new terms and modify existing definitions as the product evolves.
  • Feedback Integration: Encourage users to suggest terms or improvements to definitions to keep the glossary comprehensive and accurate.

Next Steps

  1. Use this guide to create or update the glossary.md file.
  2. Ensure all team members are aware of the glossary and its location.
  3. Regularly solicit feedback to enhance the glossary's usefulness.

Happy documenting!
